"WELLINGTON, This Day

As a train from the Upper Hutt was entering Pefone station at 8.40 this morning the driver noticed a. man fall on the track in front of the engine. Before anything could be done to avert the accident the engine passed over the fnan, who was shockingly mutilated. Death was instantaneous. Documents found on‘ the body show deceased Was Henry Henderson. Ennber worker, from Auckland district. who had resided at 66 Cook Street, Auckland; also at Mangapehi, near Te Kuiti. He was a single man, 28 years of age, a native of Paisley, Scotland. He joined the Main Body E.F. and was wounded at Gallipoli. and discharged in 1915.
