Influenza at Thursday Island is serious; The Government has been requested to send doctors, orderlies,
and drugs.
CHRISTCHURCH REPORT.
CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 10.
From noon yesterday to noon today thirty no~tific.ations of influenza (,all of a mild type) were made to the Christchurch hospital ‘authorities. There Were.-six admissions to the hospital in the same .period. At present there are twenty influenza patients in the hospit'al,' ten being mild and ten pneumonic. The majority of these cases are cofieerned with relapses due to the sufferers leaving their beds too soon, or from some form of neglect necessitating removal to the hospital for treatment. The hospital oflicials regard the position as quite. satisfactory, and the imprcs—sion is that the epidemic is 011 the‘ fwane. “ ABATEMENT IN NELSON I DISTRICT. 2 I
