On Thursday last some twenty odd members rolled up for play. Two club competitions WCES played and two sets of pairs. For the Feathers, ‘Heskefh, Stent, Varnam, and Wrightson were the challengers, and were well beaten by the holders. De Luen, , W-hams, Neagle, and McKenzie. It was a. fairly even game to the tenth head, but after that the holders forged ahead and Won by seven points. ' The Stars were represented by Ride dick, Hocking, Hintz, and Loader, who‘ were challenged by Ward, Gardner‘ o"Callaghan, land Mortland. After 8 well-con-tested game‘ up to the last head Mortland touched the tape, and thus the Stars passed out of last ye';u"s in-' vincibles_ '
Challenges for these competitions should be handed to the secretary wifh-u out delay in order fha‘. they may be played, if necessary, on Thursday.
