Allan \Vilki.e. the distinguished English actor supported by Miss Fre-‘ deswyde Hunter—Watts and his powerful dramatic cast is announced to appear at Taihape on Friday, February 13th, for one night only. Mr Wilkie visited Taihape and produced “The Silver King” last September and created a very big impression with theatregoers of Taihape. No doubt lovers: of the romantic drama will be pleased -to learn that this time Mr Wilkie will present Walter Howard's famous romantic costume drama, “The Midnight Wedding." This de~ lightful play was first produced in’ Australia, in" 1907 by the Meynell and Gun’s management and created quite a sensation, 2. litle later they -toured’ New Zealand with it, Harcourt Beatti‘ and Miss Madge Mclntosh were in the cast then. Since the Allan Wilkie Company last appeared here they have toured the whole of New Zealand and on March 6th they commence a. second tour of the Dominion. producing three new pieces and several’ revivals. )1: Wilkie did a four week season in Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin‘, this alone speaks for the ability of the company. The company has been considerably strengthened‘ since they last appeared here. “The Midnight Wedding" is by the same author as “Seven 11-gays Leave" and “The Story of the Rosary,” two of Mr Wilkie’s great successes. The ‘box plan will be at Pl-att’s, stationer, and will open to-day.
