LONDON, Jan. 15.
Newspapers conlmenting.on the decision of the Appeal» Court that Aus= tralian naturalisation does not hold good in Britain, emphasises that despite the apparent ineongruity, there underlies the pal'zftTox of the very principles of self-deter-mina"tion and voluntaryiinterdependenee in Iniperial mafters, which recently proved beyond comprehension to the enemy. It is pointed out that unless the time comes when there is representation of the Dominiong in the Imperial Parliament, it must be impossible to encroach upon the privileges of powers which are essenti.-.11 to fu-'ll sefi'tt‘-goverimizent. of \'m'.ious parts of the Empire, and the courts must be bound to recognise the existence of local untransfernble allegiance, whieh is not only in accordance with statute lznxj but the fundamental principles of British Imperial rule.
