LONDON, Nov. 26. The House of Commons, by 169 to 56, rejected Mr J. Thom-as’s motion to introduce a Bill empowering the King to accept the surrender of péérages. Lord Beatty’s reported decision not to publish the oflicial Jutland account is now denied. Professor Lefroy, following experiments, now announces that he has discovered four mortal enemies of the blowfly, namely a maggot which devours its maggots; a minute fly whoselarvae preys on maggots in the chl-y----salis; and a. waspish fly which eatsthe maggots of the ordinary fly, which eats the blowfly. The Labour censure motion was defeated Ibry 254 to 59. The Chester-le-Street bye election resulted: —— Lawson (Labour) 17,838, Gilmour (Nat.ional Democrat) 5313. The Treasury has printed large stocks of 5/ and 2/6 notes, but has not decided \_vhet~her the notes shall be issued. BERLIN, Nov. 28. The Tageblatt states that the Commission will return to Paris after leceiving“ fresh Government instructions.
