UTIKU NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Utiku is about to lose two residents who will indeed be missed, in the persons of Mr and Mrs P. G. Lewis. Mr Lewis has for close on four years. been in charge of our local school”, and he now receives well mo:'i?.er_i pro—motion in being transferred to Hangatua. Both Mr and Mr Lewis areblessed with musical talents above the ordinary, and consequently num.ero'us calls have been made upon ‘them and they have aways readily rcspoiided, Isa that they will be especially missed in our social life. In various other ways Mr a.nd Mrs Lewis have taken their share in our public life, and the best Wishes of a wide circle of fr:7ends iwill go with them.‘ The Utiku school concert takes place on Friday evening, and promi:-zcs to evxcol_all previous efiorts in this line. Under the supervision of the teachers and a few friends, the ch".ld--ren have been practising assiduously, and “Your Own” was privileged to attend a practice the other night, and‘ he can confidently say that Utiku has a great treat in store for it on Friday night A feature will be the lavish’ dressing of the performers, and a firstclass orchestra will provide the nnisia; The funds are in aid of‘ the school, but apart from that the programme to ‘be submitted will be worthy of 3.5 packed house.
