BODY TIED TO AN ANCHOR. ' ‘WHANG.-XREI, Nov. 4. A man named John Green, watchman at the Roetahi Fl-eezing Works, was found drowned under unusual. circumstances on Sunday night, close to the Reotahi Wharf. A launch party landed at the W-hart and went up to Reotahi for refreshments. Returning to their launch. at. about seven o’clock,~ they found that the anchor was ovex-boa.rd_ Hauling it up, they found the body of Green entangled with the anchor end of therope. - It is supposed tha he went down to the launch, tied the rope to his feet, and cast himself over with the anchor. The deceased was about 60 years of‘ age, married, but with no family. His‘ Widow lives at Reotahi. Thojnquest at Whangarei, where the body now lies in the ::.ov-ttxary, will be {held on Tuosrlazv afterrloon.
