Received 10.10 a.m. WASHINGTON, Sept. 11. The minority report of the Senate’s
Foreign Relations Committee say s the rejection of the Peace Treaty will involve the sacrifice , on the part of the United States of all the concessions obtained from Germany. The report deplores the delay, and pointed out a. was proposed by the majority’s reservations to destroy the League of Nations without submitting anything therefor. It would be impossible to recall the German" delegates to Paris. If they refused to come the United States will be obliged to settle direct ly it s own treaty with Germany^ — I BOLSHEVISM IN AMERICA. At Billing (Montana) President Wilson, when speaking of the Russian situation, said that the spread of unrest in the United States was due to Bolshevik propaganda. 'lt was the people’s duty to sec no minority got control—no matter how rich, no matter how poor. BRITAIN’S NAVAL SUPREMACY DISAPPEARS.
Received 10 10 a.m
LONDON, Sept. 11.
Mr Archibald Hurd says Britain’s supremacy at sea has temporarily passed to the United States which has thirty-one battleships in commission reducing to twenty-nine in 1920. Britain has twenty-two battleships and five cruisers in a similar state of readiness for reduction to the reserve. The basis of the majority of the ships of the Home fleet (already cabled), reduces our force ready for battle to
sixteen battleships ami cruisers, of which ten are in the Allantic, and six in the Mediterranean. It is ridiculous to suggest the Admiralty has done nothing to economise. There will not be a single man of war on the slips by ChristmaS - —an unprecedented post tion in modern limes. Already two hundred ships have been scrapped. The Grand Fleet ha* been dispersed, and war stations are closed or are closing; the Admiralty staff has shrunk and is.shrinking dramatically. Th?, new order to the Home Fleet suggests the whole of that force will soon dis--3 appear.
