EVACUATION 01‘ NORTH RUSSIA. DENIKEN’S MOVEMENTS. > Received 10.40 am. LONDON, ‘Sept. 4. British troops in North Russia are to be evacuated before ice blocks the rou-te. Some misconception exists over the evacuation policy not being hastened, but it is stated «the Government desired to do the utmost possible-to ‘enable the Russians to resist the 801-sh-evik advance by inflicting the maximum damage on the enemy. A thirty-day afrmistice has been arranged between -the Poles and Ukrainians, but subject to abrogation at five days’ notice. Probably Deniken has already gained a footing in Kieif. His advance towards Kursk received a severe check. althougli the Bolsheviks did not break through, .
