A bequest, estimated at £1,000,000, for the development of music in New York City was made known rm-.cntly, when Mr Augustus D. Juilliuwl, a multi-nlillionairc, who died on April 25, was filed for probate.’ After making provision for relatives, and leav~ ing legaeies to various institutions, the will provides that the residue of the estate shall be placed in the eonsml of trustees as the Juilliar-ll Musical F011‘:dation, and shall be used to as>:f:,t; worthy insfitufions to acquire :1. musical education, also to provide for musical performances without profit for the education of the general pubii '\n(l fo aid the Mefiropolitan Opera ikutpsry of New York in the procluctinn‘ sf operas.
