When Marie Ernesf, late of the Queen Mary Al-nry Auxiliary Corps, was committed for trial at Peterbarough on a. charge, of obtaining £so,,by fraud, it was alleged that she secured food and lodging by representing that she had £4OOO invested in a Russian oompany. ‘ She was also said lo have stated that a. sealed paeké'L"§Tle left with the landlord contained an insurance policy for £2,500, When ‘opened by the police however the packet was found to con‘tain only empty envelopes and love; letters.
