BUTTER EQUALISATION.
Significance is attached to the leply by 111* Massey to Mr Mander, who asked whether the Government would eon.<ider the payment from the Consolidated fund to meet the cost of butter equalisation. I\lr Massey said he intended to bring the matter before Cabinet shortly with certain recomniendations of his own. He realised that production must -be encouraged, 21113 to do that they must encourage Hm producer. He knew no section of proCule.ers who deserved more encour~ agement than the dairy farmers. He said that to “show his sympathy, but he could not give any indication of the Government-’s action.
