TRAGEDY AT ARAMOHO.
MAN KILLED BY TRAIN. ‘A shocking fatality occurred at the Aramoho Railway Station on Tuesday evening, resulting iii the death of Thomas Michael Kane, aged about 35 years. Deceased, who returned from the war, about two years ago suffering from shellshock, was well known in Wanganui. He was a passenger by the train from Wellington, and was travelling in a carriage occupied by a number of returned soldiers_ When the train was hacking into the station deceased tried to alight, but fell between two carriages. The six wheels passed over his body and when the train pulled up :1 wheel was resting on the mangled remains. The railway staff had a gruesome task in jacking up the wheel and removing the body, which, after Dr. Robertson’s arrival, was Conveyed 110 the Morgue.
