Every shop window, verandah post, or projection on which dccoorations or a flag could be‘ placed, have been utilised. Festoons of flags across the street add to the propriety of the scene. Though half completed, the effect is fine, wand to—morrow, when the decorations are completed, Taihape will indeed be a town -transformed. Evergreens are being largely used on the footpaths and around verandah posts, and as one walks up ‘between rows of shrubbery the effect is quite Arcadian. THE PEACE CERTIFICATES.
