EUCHRE PARTY AND DANCE.‘ V The third of the sefies of entertain‘ ments under the auspces of the Return.}' ed‘ Soldiers’ Association was held in the Town Hall last night. There was about one hundred couples present. The floor was in good order, and the sup-~ Aper and other ra-rrangements were up to the usual high standard. Excellent music was -supplied by Mrs J. Webb, the extras ‘being played by’ Messrs Kennedy and Onnond. The MJSC.’ were Messrs M. MeLaughlan, S. Dunbar, and Kennedy, who assisted towards «the social success of t.h’e function '
The committee desires to express its apprecifafion of the eiforts of Mesdames J.~ We’blZ Dyer, and Lenihan, and Misses D. Dyer, M. Dyer, M. Beban-, and Mason, who all worked strenuously to make the social a. success. ‘The cuchre parfy was held ‘on the stage, the lady’s prize being won by Miss Williams,~ and the gentleman’s prize by Mr Hamill. The lady’s prize wavg-an engraved silver case for odiis and ends, and the gent ’s was a safety razor and loutfit. - A cushion donated by Mrs J. VVebVb_-’ was the subject of we ‘name-guessing’, compe~fiti‘on,‘ and was Won by Mrs Dyer.
