ATTEMPT TO RUSH LOYALISTS

BEATEN OFF BY POLICE,

AN OFFER PROM BRISBANE

MELBOURNE. May 28

The Melbourne strikers attempted to rush the wharf where loyalists were unloading a steamer, but wore easily defeated by a strong body of police.

The New South Wales Federation has received advices from the Brisbane branch that the men in Brisbane are prepared to work intor-State cargo be loaded entirely by watorsiders’ labour.
