BIG MILLING CONTRACT.

SYDNEY, May .14

The Government has accepted the order of the Flourmillers' Association to grist 30,000 tons of second-grade flour from 1.916-17 wheat. It is presumably intended for export to Java, Singapore and other Eastern markets. The contract will probably absorb a million and. a half bushels of wheat, thus partly solving the problem arising out of the recent allegations.

As far as can be gathered, the lad conies from Christchurch, He wa.s given money by his. mother to purchase some boojs, but desiring to see more of New Zealand boarded the ferry boat at Lyttelton in. (stead, .and (travelled to Wellington. Here he fell in with two soldiers, who on being told that he wished to see some relatives in Auckland, paid his railway fare. They kept a friendly eye on the lad after his arrival, but so far as they can gather, he has no relatives here. He was, therefore, handed over to the police for safe keeping, pending further information.
