ON THE WILLOCHRA.
Sergeant-Major Forrest, lately in charge of Taihape Military District, writes to us as follows: "Just a line to toll you I am leaving u n Wednesday next, 14th inst, for Wellington, to embark on tlie s-s. Willochra. with the German prisoners. We also fake the prisoners from Auckland, including Von Lvckner. Altogether our quota will fc'j about 250. Then we sail to Sydntw, N.S.W., where we complete our cargo of prisoners, which will amount. to over 1000. It. was unfortunate I was unable to take a run up to dear old Taihapo. but will always remember the happy time J spent whilst stationed there, and I call honestly say. without any flattery whatever, that Taihape people are out on their own. They always made me more than welcome. I also take the liberty of thanking you and you;- staff for your kindness shown to me at all times, particularly when I wanted anything put in your paper. Thanking you again.— Yours faithfully, Wm. A. FORREST. Late Area Sergt.-Major, Taihnpe. May 7, 1919.
