PEACE CELEBRATIONS.

A meeting of . the Procession and Decoration Committee in connection with the Peace Celebrations was held in the Fire Brigade Hall last night, Mr Marlow occupying the chair, and the following members w T cre present: Somerville, Reid, Hinfz, I’Callaghan, Neagle, Dunbar, and Gibbs. Mr Marlow, who organised the meeting, stated that £l5O was promise®, and probably more. Circulars have been issued to all oar-owners, asking them to co-operate with their cars. The following are the events and prizes:—

Decorated cars— Decorated shops, Ist and 2nd prize. Floral of green ferns, etc., Ist prize. Novel car, Ist. prize. i Naval or military, Ist prize. Best decorated car in all events, Ist

prize. Motor lorry— Best patriotic lorry, Ist prize. Best decorated lorry Ist prize. Best naval or military lorry Ist prize. Tradesman’s turnout, Ist prize. Best bullock team or waggon, decorated, Ist prize. B'est back-block turnouts Ist prize. Best 5-horse waggon, decorated, Ist

prize. Motor Cycles — Best decorated motor cycle, Ist prize. & Best novelty motor cycle, Ist prize. Bicycle best decorated, Ist prize. Children’s novelty turnout, Ist and

2nd prizes. Perambulators, best decorated, Ist

prize. Most originhl horseman, mounted, Ist prize. Most original or decorated turnout, Ist prize.

Maori events—

A handsome certificate to commemorate the event will be given with all prizes. The Committee are working hard to make the event the best ever held in Taihape, therefore everybody is requested to co-operate and help to make the day a huge event that will live in th e memory of the younger people.
