INFLUENZA.
THE WEEK'S NOTIFICATION
WELLINGTON, April 22
The Minister for Public Health today supplied figures for the notifications of influenza-' during the days from April 14th to 17th. , In all 38 eases were notified. In the Auckland district there were 14 cases, all mild except one gastric case at Ohura. In the Wellington district there were IS cases —two at Eltham (both epidemic type), six in Wellington city (four severe and two mild), three at Pabiatua (two mild and one pneumonic). All the other cases in the district were mild. In Canterbury district there were five cases, two of them shipping cases at Lyttelton (both pneumonic) from the steamer Koromilca. In Otako there was one mild epidemic case in the Vincent hospital district.
QUARANTINE A CCOMMODATION
WELLINGTON, April 22,
The Minister for Public Health is endeavouring fo expedite the work required to enlarge the quarantine stations, and lias requested, the Chief Health Officer to report what has been done regarding the stations, and how long it will take to get. them into lan efficient state.
The officer has reported that the Public Works Department is pushing on the work at Motuilu, provision being made for the accommodation of 250 people, making the total capacity of the island 450. Ai : Somes Island hutments are to be provided., increasing the accommodation to 500.

Auckland:, April 22
.No fresh cases of influenza have been reported at the quarantine station at Mptuilii. Eight 'patients were discharged to-day. comprising one passenger and seven members of the crew who were left, behind. This leaves seventeen patients still on the island, of which two eases are serious.
