METHODIST CHURCH

QUARTERLY MEETING. The circuit quarterly meeting of the Methodist Church was held last even, ing, Rev. J. Cossum, of Marton, presiding. The balance sheet for the past quarter, owing chiefly to the loss of services through the epidemic, showed a deficit on the quarter’s working, but in view of circumstances was regarded as satisfactory. Messrs, J, R. Cuuninghame and W. J. Simpson w r ere reappointed circuit stewards, and Mr. J. R. Cuuninghame circuit representative to the forthcoming conference at ChristchucOh., A committee was .set up to review the Home and Foreign. Mission mutters of the circuit and to repoit to the next quarterly meeting.

Votes of thanks to all those who had helped in the recent garden party and to Mr. P. R. Spiior for his past services to the church were recorded, as was also a motion of appreciation of the services of the laic Miss A, 111 Darvill.

Various matters of minor importance were dealt with and relegated to respective officers for attention.
