TAIHAPE FIRE BRIGADE.
The usual monthly meeting of the Fire Brigade was'Hel3 last week, the chair being occupied by Captain Reid. It Afras decided to get a three years’ certificate for the late Fireman: Foote (killed in action), and that the same be framed and given to his next of kin.
In response to the Mayors’ request for delegates to attend rthje Cele • brations Committee meeting, Lieutenant Mortland and Secrtary Adair were appointed delegates. . Foreman A. Russell was the delegate deputed to represent Taihape at the United District Fire Brigade Conference to be held at Invercargill in March. ®
After considerable discussion it was decided that the Captain be deputed to procure a motor car suitatTle for Brigade purposes.
The fireman in charge of the fire alarm system reported that the alarms were if- excellent working condition.
Accounts amounting to £lO were passed for payment. Tavo firemen were detailed for Town Hall duty for the month of March. This concluded the business, and the usual vote of thanks to fEe chair concluded the meeting.
