The tube stoppage affects all the principal undergrounds except the district railway, also the local elevated electric service on the Brighton line. The drstrict railway workers defeated the strike resolution by a small majority.
A joint meeting of the Great Western and Great Central and North Western electric train men at Willesden decided to support the unions, but demanded the executive should call a national strike if the troops are drafted to settle it. Thp trifling matter in disputp refers to relief time for meals under the eigM-hdur day. *Pbe companies concerned state the rtrtlway executive committee is responsibl for the impasse. The "Standard's" Glasgow correspondent states that union loyai workmen are. "gradually returning as a result of a promise by the authorities of complete protection, and the .-hipyards are expected to be in full operation by Wednesday.

They consider the srike is now broken, despite the Scattish Trade Unions' unexpected decision to support the movement. It is announced the war Cabinettakes up the dispute immediately.
The Railway Clerks' Association demands recognition, wheih Mr Stanley has refused. Station masters and others supervising affiliated with the Association are refraining from drastic action until Thursday.

Jowahari, in wreaking vengeance on a woman, Miaina, cut her heads and feet practically off, and then used his knife on her h'oad. The woman died in the hospital, and Jowahari is to stand his trial on a charge of murder.
