THE WELLINGTON MEETING. WELLINGTON, aJnuary 22. The Wellington races were held today in fine weather, except that a drizzling rain fell at the last race. There was a big crowd present.- The totalisator handled £55,149 10s, as against. £45,169 10s on the corresponding day of last year. Results: Apprentice's Handicap.—Palm Oil 1 Momac 2, Red Signal 3. Rewi Poto led into the straight, but Red Ribbon got up in time to dead heat with him. Punaka was several lengths away. Time: 2.33 3-5.

FOXTON MEETING. FOXTON, January 22. The weather was good for the Foxton Racing Club's annual meeting* There was a - 'recor&"'attendance. The beach was in first-class order, and the meeting highly successful. Some dissatisfaction was expressed with the judge's decision in two races, particularly in the last race, when the general opinion was that Otara was second.
