' A STEP FORWARD FOR ; EFFICENCY. Taihape Motors - JLtcl., announce that their new foreman, Mr A. J. Brooke, has arrived. Mr Brooke has had .18 years' experience in gencfrfal (motor work. He was apprenticed for five years with Messrs. David Brown and Sons. Ltd., Huddevsficld (England), and is the holder of a .-iccond class mairine certificate. ',.Vf/ter completing his apprenticeship he was employed by the Diamler, Austin, and Rolls-Royce Motor Companies respectively, and had track driving experience on B'rooklands. Later he wont to America, and was with the Packard Motor Company Ltd., Detroit, who employed him as leading bench hand and test room expert. The last six years Mr Brooke has spent in New Zealand, the first three as foreman to Messrs. Bockaerts Ltd., who have the main garage in Timaru, and arc agents for the Darracq and Buick cars. He left there to join Messrs. Cousins and Black, of Duncdin, as foreman. This firm is the oldest ■ and most important motor and engineering firm in Duncdin, as well as one of the foremost in their own particular line in the whole of New Zealand. They are one of the main agents in the South Island, for the famous Dodge cars. Practically every class of car and truck in New Zealand goes through this firm's hands. Cr Brooko had to leave the South on account of his wife's health, and Taihape Motors Ltd., were fortunate in securing his services, This firm will now be able to undertake every class of work appertaining to the motor car, and will do work' to a standard that has never before obtained in Taihape. Taihape Motors, Ltd., hope to have one or two more first class mechanics here within the next ten days, and by that time they hope to cope with the business that is pouring in.
