CERTIFICATES OF DISCHARGE WELLINGTON, this day. King’s certificates of discharge are now issued by the Base Records Office These certificates are given to any soldier disabled in I|p various theatres of war, including the German colonies in the Pacific, or while serving with an allied power. Soldiers discharged before December Kith next have to apply, stating grounds; after that date they will be asked, on being discharged, if they desire to apply. FIRE IN MAORI MISSION HOSPITAL. WHAKATANE, this day. A fire broke out at seven this morn- j ing in the Maori Mission Hospital, in ' which were twelve, patients, mostly with influenza. The fire was discovered before it got a strong hold, and extinguished after only slight damage. Two serious case's were removed to one Of the temporary hospitals. STEAMER DORSET ASHORE. } WELLINGTON, Dee TO. The New Zealand and African Company’s steamer Dorset, from Loudon, via Sydney and Auckland, took - the ground off Ward at 8 a.rn, 'today while coming up the harbour.
