TAIHAPE WOMEN’S WORKING CLUB.
'A meeting of the Club was held on Tuesday. Present: Mesdames Boyd (chair), Turnbull, McDonald, Miller, Clarke, Batt. and Miss Bennett (hon, sec).. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Plummer, Gardener, and Bennett. The main object of the meeting was to decide whether or not to continue sending the usual hatch of parcels to our soldiers. After considerable discussion it was decided to continue with, the work until the end of the Club’s year in March, but the -actual arrangements were to be held over until the next meeting, when it is hoped there will be a larger attendance. Owing to the Christmas holidays fhe next meeting will be hold on the first Tuesday in February. The drawing of the number for the iced cake and work basket then took: place in the presence of the committee. The winner of the cake was Mrs. Boyd ,with No. 166, and Master Harry Crawford held the winning number,
44, for the basket.
Accounts amounting to £B4 7s 2d were passed for payment, and the meeting adjourned.
