FRONTIER TRAGEDY.
WOMAN BETRAYS ESCAPEES. An Amsterdam message states thai Les Nouvelles, published at The Hague announces thta a terrible tragedy oc currd on the Belgian frontier of the Dutch province of Limburg during the night of September 13. One hundred and seventy Belgian patriots attempted to get through the electrified wire at the frontier. According'to the reports of spectators of the tragedy, which took place at Mesch, near Eysden, the party had been betrayed by a -woman and the Germans had been forewarned; A group of 10 men who had decided to sacrifice their lives if necessary went ahead in order to surprise the sentinels and cut the wire. They managed to kill three Germans soldiers who tried to arrest them, but machine-guns were suddenly brought into action them, and the 10 B'elgians fell before they were able to cut the wire. Thereupon S7O of their companions, including three Sisters of Charity acting as nurses, were arrested. The others succeeded in escaping to the interior of Belgium after a sanguinary man-hunt.
