AT TAUMARUNUI.

The “Press” states Friday was one of the best days since the epidemic made its appearance in Taumarunui, and inquiries show that the disease has been fully mastered. The progress which was so marked at the commencement of the week, has been fully maintained, and another seven days should see Taumarunui with a clean bill of health. Trade is beginning to get back, to its ordinary routine, and storekeepers are' looking forward to make up for some of the lost time. Reports from outside districts arc the best for some days. At Eaurijnu there arc only six patients in the temporary hospital, and only a few at Owhango. Progress is reported from Matiore, where Mr. Stuart, from Taumarunui, is giving a hand. The number of patients is 34, and no serious cases. An all-round improvement' is noted at Manunui and yesterday saw the closing of the temporary hospital. There are still a number of cases, but these are being treated in the different homes.
