The official history of New Zealand in the war wili.be compiled in three volumes, the first dealing with Galli : poll, second with Egypt and Palestine, the third, ynth France. Part of the first has already been written by an officer who served in Gallipoli, and meets the approval of Sir James Allen. Probably the rest of the volume will be entrusted to the same hand. Cables have been sent to Godley and Chaytor, 'asking them to recommend writers for the offier volumes.
SEAMAN POISONS HIMSELF. j WELLINGTON, this day. Lewis Lamb, a seaman on the s.s. Kiltawa poisoned himself while under the influence of drink, but the evidence did not disclose -whether the poisoning was accidental or otherwise.
