SCHLESIEN TORPEDOED WHILE EN ROUTE TO NORWAY. COPENHAGEN, Nov. 17. The “Fremdenblatt” states that the battleship Schlesien, which fled, was torpoeded en route to Norway. The Schlesien was a pre-dreadnought battleship of 12,997 tons and 16,000 h.p. She had a speed of 19 knots, and carried four llin. guns, fourteen 6.7 in,, and twenty-two 3. i4n. guns. She was plated with 9Jin. armour and had six torpedo tubes. CASSAPEDIA .SAFE. Received 11.25 a.m. NEW YORK, Nov 18. The steamer Cassapedia sent a wireless to Boston, stating the vess'ePwas damaged in a hurricane off the coast of Newfoundland, but not sunk as at' first reported.
