. Melbourne Cup.— Nightwatch 1, Kenuaquhair 2, Gadabout 3. In the early stages Desert Gold was fifth, and at the river was fourth. Gadabout led into the straight from Nightwatch, with Fiumark seventh. Nightwatch drew out at the distance and won brilliantly iu record time by a half-length. Finmark was fourth. Desert Gold eighth.
