RAILWAYMEN AND INCREASED WAGES.

RESOLUTION BY TAIHAPE BRANCH OF E.T.C.A.

The Taihape branch of E.F.C.A., at a specila meeting unanimously adopted the following resolution: “As the locomotive men have been denied the right to use the machinery of the Conciliation and Arbitration Act. Ave justly demand increased wages Jn addition to the war bonus and improved conditions, and a penal rate for night duty, which we consider to be most reasonable demands. In this connection we urge our Executive Council to take steps to have our requests acceded to, and in which they will receive our whole-hearted support. Shoulc. our long-standing grievances be redressed after repeated requests, we call on our Executive to take a ballot to test the feelings of its members,”
