THE FALLACY OF STATE CONTROL.

o From the standpoint of both argument and experience, Mr. James Simpson exhaustively deals with the State Control of Liquor. It was this particular aspect of the Liquor question which received very full consideration in Labour circles in Auckland, resulting in Mr, Simpson going up there and addressing the biggest abour meeting of its kind ever held in Auckland. Mr. Simpson attacked the question first of all from its economic side, claiming it to he unsound socially for the State to handle and control anything other than things that are means of life to the community. From actual experience, too, Mr. Simpson condemns the scheme, declaring its failure in the countries where it has been actually tried. Certainly Mr. Simpson should be beard on this interesting aspect of the question next Tuesday night, in the Town Hall.
