QUEEN ALEXANDRA’S OWN REGIMENTAL BAND CONCERT.
The organisers of the Otaihape Club’s Our Day effort received word yesterday from Lieut. G. Buckley that the members of the Band to a man had decided to make the trip to Taihape. Altogether there will be thirty members of the famous band present in Taihape. A glance over the programme of the concert will gladden the hearts of music-lovers. All tastes are catered for. The cornet duet by Messrs Buckley and Shepley will be a particularly line item. Commenting on the concertina solos rendered by Mr. W. Shepley, the “Manawatu Standard” says: “He extracted some beautiful misic from his little instrument, and received a flattering double recall for his contribution.” The vocal items to be rendered by Miss Bella McLean and Mr. Max Hood will be certain to meet with the approval of the Taihape public. On Sunday afternoon at 2.45 the Band will give an open air concert in the Domain, when a collection will be taken up for the Red Cross effort.
