ELIMINATING THE MIDDLEMAN Received 9.20 a.m. SYDNEY, this day It is unofficially stated that in order to reduce the price of meat in Sydney the Government is purchasing the whole stock slaughtered at the State abattoirs at Homehush, selling the meat direct to the retailers, thus elimmating the middleman. MELBOURNE, this day. Owing to a strike on the steamer Domboola the Government engaged volunteer labour and dispatched the ship.
