KING’S THEATRE. “The Trail of the Shadow" is a picture that even exhibitor and every picture patron will be glad to see. Every item in this splendid Metro production is of the best. The star is exceedingly popular, and is becoming more so with every fresh production. Emmy Wehlcn has not had a failure, but there is no question that in this picture she scores more emphatically than ever before. The story is of the gripping, exciting, rapid action type with a strong appeal to the heart—-the plot is definite and convincing; the production is complete in every detail, and the photography, as is usual with the Metro, is of the highest standard. The picture comes to New Zealand as a winner both in America and Australia, and where shown already in New Zealand has been an unqualified success, one showman considers it the best picture that has been screened for a long time. This is the situation in ‘ ‘ Two Little Imps ’ ’ a six part comedy written by Mary Murillo to exploit the precocity of Janee and Katherine Lee. The comedy entanglements of ‘ ‘ Two Little Imps ’ ’ are as thick as plums in a home-made pudding and most of them are amusing. The pranks of the two youthful stars that furnish the entertainment, and their talent for getting into mschief is* abnormally developed. To say that Jane and Katherine are their element while being rescued from the ridge of the hotel roof by the fire department or helping to capture a gang of burglars is to do justice to the youngsters of the Fox stars. The businesslike way in which they do their work is not excelled by any member of the east.
