A GOOD STORY.

A good story of an exchange of humour between soldiers in a London hospital was told by Bishop Cleary during a war address last evening. The incident concerned one of those blueeyod, curly-haired, innocent young fellows, said the Bishop. He was to be operated on and was inquiring of his mates how they had fared with their operations. One replied that he had had a sponge sewn up in his wound, and .another that the doctors had omitted to remove an implement before his wound" was finally cleaned and sewn up." The young man a few minutes later entered the operating theatre, and it was no time before he was back in bed and telling his chums how well he felt when the surgeon strolled in and asked if any of the inmates had seen his walking-stick. The inquiry made a deep impression on the young fellow, but the laughter and good humour of his chums soon brought him into line, and he enjoyed the joke as good as they did.
