While dog-owners are trembling about the provision of food for their i pets, the War Office is making renewed appeals for gifts of large dogs ■fcr army purposes. It wants especially Dames, mastiffs, St. Bernards, Newfoundlands, bull-mastiffs, retrievers, collies, sheepdogs, large curs, Dalmatians, lurchers, Airedales, crossbred shepherds. No dogs smaller than Airedale terriers are required, and they must be between 18 months and five years of age.
