RED CROSS NOTES
Under the heading "Flag Days," the "Daily Mail" Year Book has the following paragraph.:- — "Our Red Cross 'Day' is the most popular day of the year; £1,200,000 was raised in 1917 on that day, including collections from overseas." The "Taihape Times" of August 28, 1918 has the following cable: "The wounded are being succoufEr! with wonderful celerity, Red Cross stretcher bearers and motor cars being in closest touch with; the front line."
Many people —even some returned men—do not yet realise tnat hospitals, nurses, and all equipment from the front lie to the base and at Home are supplied by the Red Cross. ""Some soldiers owe evert their wives to the Red Cross "and'all bear witness to the wonderful work the nurses do.
