CRIBBAGE TOURNAMENT.

At the Cribbage Tournament on Monday night between the Fire Brigade and a team of local townsmen, the Brigade met its Waterloo, being defeated for the first time this season. The final result was that the town team (captained by Mr. McLaren) won 19 games, and the Brigade (under Skipper Sep. Reid) won 14. Following are the details, the Brigade being mentioned first in each case:—Reid and Mathie 1 v McLaren and Turner 4; Mortland and Howens 4 v Wham and Beban 1; McLure and Strudwick 1 v Jones and Ward 4; Russell and Hartley 2 v Daws and Jones 3; Green and Niven 1 v Partridge and Stevens 4;, Drew and Casey 2 v Johnson and Strong 3; McLure 3 v Hall 2.
