RECAPTURE OF CAMP ESCAPEES. GOOD WORK BY POLICE. WELLINGTON, this day. All five of the men who escaped from detention at Featherston Camp have been recaptured and dealt with by the military authorities. The first two whose capture was reported were not at large for long, but the other three stayed. They went as far as the coast in their search for shelter. They met with rebuffs at all farmhouses and stations at which they applied for help, and at last, tired and exhausted, after several nights in the open, made their way back to Martinborough byroad. Here they were apprehendec by the camp police. A tribute is paid to the manner in w r hich they were returned to camp by the prompt action of the military police.
