The Daily Telegraph's Hague correspondent reports that an agreement has been signed for an exchange of
combatant and civilian prisoners, also those in Holland and : Switzerland, on the lines of the Franco-German agreement. ■'■ ■ • ■•

The ■ "Politiken 's" Berlin correspondent learns 1 from a high authority that if the Allies decide to cut off Germany from the outside world and take her colonies, Germany will not surrender Belgium. BRITISH SOCIALISTS. DEMONSTRATION IN TRAFALGAR SQUARE. LONDON, July 15. A pro-Ally socialist demonstration in Trafalgar Square resolved; inter alia, on opposing peace terms until the Hohenzollerns and Hapsburgs have suffered a military defeat, or been thrown off by their own peoples. They also passed a resolution demanding full compensation for German outrages and devastation. GOLD PRODUCTION, THE COST DISCUSSED. LONDON. July 14. Sir Lionel Phillips, a 'member of the Gold Committee, states that the cause of the decrease in gold production is mainly due to the unfair system whereby producers are paid the pre-war rate, which now does not suffice to procure the same amount of commodities. He does not advocate any change in the standard price of gold, but the loss in production ought to be made up in other ways, otherwise he fprsees serious decrease.
