FOOTBALL.

To-morrow will be a red-letter day in football in Taihape, two matches being played during the afternoon. The first match will be against Ohingaiti, play commencing at 1.30, so as to enable the visitors to get home by the 3.35 train. Ohingaiti is certainly only a small place, but there are some good players in that district, and they are bringing up a team to beat which the Taihapo team will have to extend themselves. They played and beat Hunterville last Saturday and hope to repeat the performance to-morrow. If the weather is fine and the ground dry a very interesting game will result. The Taihape team has been rearranged, and promises a very good back division, and the pack, though somewhat light, will make the game a fast and open one. The following players will represent the home team: — Fullback, Eaton; threequarters, B, Sinclair, McGowan, Bray; five-eights, Connolly and McAuliffe; half, Dockery; forwards, Smith, Bennett, Tierney, P. Donovan, J. Donovan, Hay, S. Sinclair, Dockery. Emer; Spooner. After the Ohingaiti match, the contest between the Maoris and the Old Boys will be played, starting at three o’clock sharp. The following will don the jersey for the Old Boys:—Campbell, Kelsall, McDonell, Welsh, Johnstone, V. Campbell, Hyland, Begg, Barry, Laurenson and Kelly. To-morrow night there will* be a three-star programme at the King's. The premier picture will feature Douglas Fairbanks in “The Habit of Happiness,” which is the very latest of the famous Fairbanks series. The second star will be “The Girl Philippa,” starring Anita Stewart. “The Secret Kingdom” is the third feature, the third episode' of which will be shown. This programme is one of the b est ever shown in Taihape. The Maori team will be represented by H. Kingi, Tau, Te Twekau, W. Pini, J. Pini, Takarangi, B. Eaukawa, Whake, Wilson, Stoncy, P. Tairua, H, Wildman, Whakatihi, J. Paul, H. Salmon, Emergencies: Jacob and Eangi.
