HOCKEY.
The first match for the Huia Challenge Cup will be played to-morrow afternoon between the Old Girls' jl-ckey Club and the Huias. This match has for some time been looked forward with considerable interest. Both teams have been practising assiduously for some weeks, and a real good game is anticipated. On paper there appears very little to choose between the teams, and though both sides have some first season players, there are sufficient veterans to steady and hearten the younger players. In any case the game will be a strenuous one.
The following players will represent the Old Girls' Club:—Misses D. Leahy, M. Leahy, C. Mc'Laughlan, D. Swenson, E. Donovan, R Brookie, L. Jones, Richards, B. Campbell, Gordon, and E. McAuliffe. Emergencies: Mrs. Pitt and Miss D. Boyd.
The Huia Club will b% represented by the following players:—l. Treadwell, D. Bray, M. Donovan, B. Hall, E. Sinclair, M. Mullins, N. Laurenseu, B. Curry, E, Kilkolly, A. Campbell, C. Donovan.
