KING’S THEATRE. Altogether novel is the talc that is told in “The Secret Husband” or “Mary Jane’s Pa,” the Vitagraph drama. The stage version created an all wide sensation in America, and the picturisation is wonderful. Mildred Manning, a new Vitagraph star and Eulalie Jensen, hold the feminine roles, while ?.larc McDermott, as the whimsical wanderer has a role that absolutely suits him. He strolls away one day from his native town, leaving his wife and daughter to shift for themselves. He has no particular reason, except that he was taken suddenly by a desire to travel. He returns in much the same way, and brings terrible disgrace and scandal upon his wife, She owns and is running with great earnestness and vim, the local newspaper, and is carrying on a fierce campaign against a crooked politician. She cannot turn Hir.am away, and takes him on as a sort of hired man, to do the housework. This; provokes the tongues of the town scandalmongers. Supported by Gazette comedy, cartoons, eto.
