HOCKEY.

A meeting of the Old Girls' Hockey Club was held on Wednesday last, Mrs. D. Neagle presiding. ~y The ladies in charge of the Women's • Working Club for this month asked the "Old Girls" to take charge of the Shop for one day ,and Saturday, June 29, was decided on. A house to house canvass of the whole town is to be made, girls being appointed to canvass the different streets. A challenge is to be forwarded" tothe|Huia ladies' team for the first cup match, to be played on the "Rec" on Thursday, July 27. All Old Girls are requested to be present at practices on Monday evening and at the "Rec" on Thursday to enable a team to be picked for theCup match. Those who have not paid their subscriptions are requested to do so as soon as possible. The Club acknowledge with thanks donations from Mesdames Ongley, Neagle and Wakeman. A'meeting is to be held this evening at Mrs. Neagle's residence, at 7 o'clock to reconsider the date of th& social and dance.
