WOMEN’S WORKING CLUB.

A meeting of the Club was held in the club room on Tuesday, June 11. Present; Mesdames Smith (chair), Boyd, Crawford, Fookes, Gardner, McDonald, McAuliffe, Neagle, Plummer, Thurston, Miller, Misses McDonell, White, Sellings and Bennett (assistant secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Miss Kennedy (Hon. Sec.) and Mrs. Bennett.

Miss Kennedy resigned her position as hon. secretary owing to ill-health.

The committee unanimously passed the following resolution:--“The Committee expresses its great regret at the resignation of Miss Kennedy owing to ill-health, and hope for her speedy recovery, desires to place on record their thanks for her valued

services.” ' ■ A discussion arose as to whether the Club intended to take part in the Winter Show, and it was decided that the Club should, if possible, be represented on that occasion.

The resignation of Mrs. Arthur, who has so ably represented the Club at Hihitahi, was accepted with sincere regret, and a resolution appreciative of her services was recorded on the minutes. A circular letter was received from. the Minister of Defence, asking for the Club’s assistance in the making of a “History of the New' Zealand Forces/’ which work the Government has lately decided to compile. The Committee decided to offer personally any interesting literature which they might consider helpful. The question of sending alcoholic cookers was discussed and after some discussion it was decided to discontinue the sending of these cookers for the present.

Accounts amounting to £75 16s 7d were passed for payment and the committee adjourned.
