KING’S THEATRE. “Satan Sanderson,” Hallio Erminie Rives’ well known novel was one of the biggest successes last year in America, being the “best seller” of its day, Tho splendid vigorous story of the unfolding of a man’s true character was finely told and the powerful contrast of Hugh Stires and Sanderson made a deep impression. At college Sanderson had earned the title of “Satan” by Ms devilry and love of mischief which often went too far, but a tragedy pulling him up he became a clergyman. His reputation however followed him and his nickname “Satan” stuck. The idea of two men being exactly alike —doubles-—has often been worked before, but it must be conceded never with such force and artistry as in this story. The story is the strong point of this picture —it is interesting to a degree—never flags l —never loses touch —there are many strong dramatic moments and a thrilling climax. The ISth episode of “The Iron Claw” will also be shown. EVERYBODY’S. A double star programme will tonight be shown at Everybody’s, one of which is a William Eox production entitled “The Victim,” featuring the Russian actress Valeska Suratt. This picture is good because the players have put real work into it and made tho story human. It is ably handled all through and is screened in good workmanship fashion. The other attraction is a five reel Bluebird production “The Rescue,” with Dorothy Phillips in the leading role, A laughable comedy .and a graphic, complete the programme.
